Camp Members attend the Middle Tennessee Relic Show
This past weekend (December 3 and 4) our own Camp Commander Mike Farrar and member Garrett Glover attended the Middle Tennessee Relic Show held in historic Franklin, Tennessee. The guys had a great time at the show and had the chance to visit with some very knowledgeable dealers and collectors, as well as personally inspect and handle a variety of original Confederate relics.
In addition to the show, Mike and Garrett also toured the remnants of the Franklin battlefield, as well as the historic Carnton Plantation and the adjacent McGavock Confederate Cemetery.
For those who haven't been to Franklin before I highly recommend the trip. Although the remaining portion of the battlefield is fairly small, concerted efforts are being made to preserve additional portions of the battle, as well as return the site to a more 1864 appropriate look.
The Franklin Relic show is one of, if not the largest Civil War Relic Show in the west, and was filled with 1,000 tables of displays and items available for purchase.
