Captain Isaac Newton Moreland Turner Birthday Memorial
At 10:00 A.M., Saturday, April 8, 2017, the Captain Isaac Turner Sons of Confederate Camp #1275 will be holding a birthday memorial celebration at the historical J.A.S. Turner Cemetery off of Midway Loop East in Polk County to commemorate the 189th birthday of our namesake.
The services will include the raising of the Hood's Brigade Texas flag over the cemetery, artillery and musket volleys, a canteen ceremony, and Black Rose Ceremony held by the Montgomery Rose Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Following the memorial service we will be holding a pot-luck lunch.
Uniforms or period dress is encouraged, but not required.
